The Ropp family would love to have your group come out to tour the farm and maybe even milk a cow or two. They offer working farm, cheese plant, retail store and educational tours, alone with special event weekends like Christmas on the farm, June dairy month and fall harvest. So come out and visit us at the farm.
Educational Field Trip Opportunity
- Children can watch cheese making, feed calves, milk a cow and
learn how milk gets from the cow to the store.
- Possible additional activities (weather permitting): making butter, hayrides, story time in the hay barn, tour of the farm and watch crop planting (spring only) or harvesting (fall only).
- Each child would be able to sample fresh cheese curds and each child will receive an activity booklet.
- Purpose: Connecting kids with Agriculture.
- Cost $3 per child. 15 – 20 children would be our suggested number. They can be divided into smaller groups for each activity.
- Best time to see the cheese making is from 10:00 – 2:30.
If sack lunches are brought, there are plenty of picnic tables.
